To show that "Protestant Truth" and "Biblical
Truth" are one. Unfortunately, protestantism has at times been
mixed with certain political and cultural additives which have little
or nothing to do with true protestantism. The word "Protestant" has
a positive not a negative content, signifying one who bears witness
and publicly testifies to the Lord Jesus Christ. The reformers of
the 16th century used the word in this sense. It is our desire to
promote a "consistent" protestantism - a biblical Christianity
which transforms our beliefs and behaviour, a contemporary protestantism
which is ever learning from the past but also looking to the future.
(Psalm 78.1-8) 2. To work alongside churches in providing biblical
teaching concerning fundamental protestant belief and through lectures
and audio-visual presentations provide an introduction to the protestant
and evangelical heritage of our land. A number of our preachers have
themselves served in pastoral ministry and have a burden for an increased
awareness amongst God's people for the need to 'be strong in the
Lord and in the power of His might' (Eph. 6:10)
3. To declare the gospel to the world. Again this emphasises the "outward
looking" nature of the work.
Through open air witness and agricultural show exhibits we seek
to reach many who would never darken the doors of a place of worship
but will engage in "one to one" conversation and read
our free literature. If you are concerned for the salvation of
souls this is an important part of our work which needs your prayer
support. We are an interdenominational Society, and are willing to visit
congregations throughout the country. If you would like to hear
more of the work at either a midweek meeting or through the ministry
on the Lord's Day please ring: 020 7405 4960 or alternatively write
to: P.T.S., 184 Fleet St., London EC4A 2HJ. As Protestants we seek to be both Christ centred and Bible based
in all we undertake. We are committed to a belief in the Authority
and Sufficiency of Scripture for all matters of faith and conduct.
The doctrines of Justification by grace alone, through faith alone,
in Christ alone and of the priesthood of all believers are at the
heart of our Protestant Faith. A fuller statement of our beliefs
is found in our basis of faith which is available on request. |
